What is a Vertical Shaft Impact (VSI)?

A Vertical Shaft Impact (VSI) is an impact crushing technology to crush rock-on-rock or rock-on-steel by utilizing the kinetic energy of fast moving material․

The feed material is introduced into the center of a spinning rotor and ejected outward against stationary anvils or a chamber lined with rock․ Rock-on-rock impact crushing is the method of choice for the manufacture of uniformly shaped‚ high quality aggregates․

The VSI has a very strong build which allows it to perform efficient size reduction․ Thanks to the strong rotor and crushing chamber‚ material size can be easily controlled‚ as can the overall throughput‚ by adjusting both the rotor speed and the feed rate into the machine․

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

VSI Crushers generate high-quality cubical aggregates, provide much better product consistency, and can achieve lower operating expenses because of less wear and high efficiency in using energy.

VSI is effective in grinding hard and medium-hard granites such as basalt and granite and recyclable materials, such as concrete, asphalt, and slags.

The rotor flings the material and it hits other rock material which walls the chamber of a crusher. This promotes the fracture along grain lines giving a good quality cubical production.

Our VSI crushers are constructed of long-wearing materials and wear-resistant liners with a long life of operation- usually many years even considering maintenance and specific end uses.

Yes. The ability to regulate rotor speed gives operators the chance to optimize particles sizes and shape as per the specific applications.
